Now that winter is winding down, it's time (for me at least!) to think about cheap, now-on-sale outerwear that's thrown into the clearance section to make room for the new spring clothes. (As a poor college student I need to keep track of these things.) I already found my boyfriend a fantastic $20 black double-breasted peacoat at Old Navy (full price = almost $80!!) And now I'm moving on to myself.
I trend that I've been seeing lately is the cape. When I first saw them on the runways I was pretty indifferent towards them, didn't love it, didn't hate it, but now I'm putting a lot more thought into this possibility. There is something positively whimsical, mysterious, but also vintage and adorable about them. There are many things I think about when I see a cape being used for outerwear...

| A few past runway looks.. I love Sonia Rykiel's version. It's asymmetrical and has quirky angles. |

I can't help but let all of my dreamy preconceptions and fairytale thoughts affect my decision towards liking/not liking the cape. What do you think? Would you go for the cape when it gets cold again?
