Royal Hats from The Royal Wedding.

It would be wrong for me not to do a post on the Royal Wedding, right? I mean, this whole blog was pretty much founded on my love for British culture and fashion, so what event would expose those two things better than the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton? It was something that could not be missed, so yes, I woke up early to watch the wedding broadcast. I wasn't as crazy as some who woke up at 3am to see the beginning coverage, but I did wake up at 4:45am exactly to see the actual wedding. Needless to say, it was lovely. Kate was, of course, beautiful, the dress was stunning, William was handsome, (as was Prince Harry...), but I'm sure you all have watched enough specials/seen enough pictures of the wedding to last a lifetime.

I thought I would just show you all some photos of the royals who attended the event- and their hats! That is one thing, among many, that I wish Americans would do: wear colorful, huge hats to special occasions such as weddings. They are often so quirky, huge, and sometimes just plain weird. So here you are! Hopefully you aren't too sick of royal coverage yet!

LEFT: Carole Middleton. Lovely pale blue coat dress. She must be so proud!
RIGHT: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. The hat seems a little big and overwhelming, but I like the colors of her ensemble.

LEFT: John Bercov and wife, Sally Bercow. Hat is too small, I think. And the hair seems so undone for this formal wedding.

RIGHT: Lady Helen Taylor. I don't love the embroidery on the dress, but the hat is OK. Good, not great.  

LEFT: Autumn Phillips. A great purple color on her! Hat is interesting, but I like it!
RIGHT: Ben Fogle and Marina Fogle. I think her hat really is lovely. Classic color, pretty swirly design and netting I always love.

The best and worst of the group put together, in my eyes. Strange, since it was unintentional!
LEFT: Chelsea Davy. Yes, Prince Harry's (current? old?) girlfriend... Now, I'm not being biased (since I want to marry Harry, like a lot of girls), but she looks horrible. The outfit is just ugh, the hair is ratty, and I can literally see the bags under her eyes from here. Result of late night partying? BEFORE THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY?
RIGHT: Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. This might be my favorite look of the group. I think the color is beautiful, and Victoria looks so radiant and fresh!

LEFT: David and Victoria Beckham. She has a very interesting look with the odd hat on the forehead and the sleek ponytail. And check out those heels! And she's pregnant! David looks so dapper and regal- I love his look!
RIGHT: Frances Osbourne. I love this head piece! The feathers are really pretty and dramatic with the black floral base.

LEFT: Miriam Gonzalez. I admit, I kind of like the giant coral floral headpiece/turban. It matches her lipstick perfectly!
RIGHT: Princess Michael of Kent. Very very large, wide-brimmed hat! But sometimes the bigger the better... I mean, the hats are half the entertainment at a wedding!

LEFT: Tara Palmer- Tomkinson. Perhaps my two least favorite hats/looks. Ugly grey bird feathers and a moon-thing.
RIGHT: Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Letizia of Asturias. I adore that petite pink young lady, she looks so cute! I love her ensemble and the netting coming across her eyes.

I figured I would put these two pairs together!
LEFT: I don't need to even say... Prince William and Price Harry. They look handsome and so official.
RIGHT: Princess Eugenie of York and Princess Beatrice of York. How strange are their hats? It looks like there is a squid on her forehead!

Queen Elizabeth II, of course. Isn't she just the cutest lady you've ever seen? So precious in the light canary yellow.

The beautiful couple, united at last! That dress is not only appropriate for her new social standing, but it compliments her so well. Look how tiny her frame is!

And as a farewell, here is the balcony kiss. (There were two kisses! Woo hoo!) And just look and the little girl on the left. Hahaha, I was laughing for ages! It must have been so loud.
