Andy Samberg Goes Tennis in The New York Times Magazine.

Andy Samberg as John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg c.1980... in the video below, it's described as the most
important picture. "That glare into the camera. That they just hated that picture."
I really enjoy watching tennis, and playing occasionally, though I'm truly terrible. I also enjoy the comedic antics of Andy Samberg-- so when I saw a link to this editorial on twitter, I was delighted with what I saw! I know the US Open just ended yesterday with Djokovic winning (though I am a huge Nadal fan...) but why not reminisce? Here we have Samberg literally portraying tennis greats, each with their own different styles and fashion tastes. (I also added some original photos to compare.)

These appeared in The New York Times Magazine and were created by photographer Walter Iooss Jr.

Samberg as a very hairy Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi (with his amazing mullet & loud outfit.)

Andy re-enacting McEnroe from Wimbledon 1980. I love this photograph.

As Bjorn Borg, the former #1 Swedish great.

Jimmy Connors, with the signature fist pump, and McEnroe again. (I think they included many McEnroe's because he really portrayed him and his look the best. He really looks like McEnroe!)

I really think these photos are hilarious and such a brilliant idea.
Below is a video of the making of this editorial:

Another tennis post to come...
